Sunflower Scrap IV Progress

When I put this small quilt on my design wall for further consideration last week, I thought my dilemma was the next step in the background quilting design. Yesterday I realized it wasn’t the background that needed clearer thinking, it was the foreground. Here I have added a leaf and tendril to the bottom right edge of the sunflower.

I love it when the answers come! Now I can finish it.

I knew you would come up with the correct answer. PERFECT!

Looks good with the leaf on the lower right! And the tendril. How about a second leaf?

    • Counting the tendril, I have 7 secondary design elements around my sunflower — the largest one I’ve done so far — and I’m afraid more leaves will crowd the composition too much. Maybe the next one — who knows?

The balance is perfect. It’s good to take time to consider things. We learn a lot that way too. Thanks for sharing.

It’s beautiful, Franki. Yes, answers are nice, especially when you can act on them in the moment.
