The theme I joined for this rounds’ exchange of fabric postcards with Postmark’d Art is Alphabet. It will take several rounds of trading to get through the whole alphabet. This round involves the first 6 letters: A, B, C, D, E, F. There are 6 fiber artists in a group and each person chooses one letter as inspiration for making 6 postcards. I chose the letter C. I just put “C is for Copper” in the mail today. I hope everyone receiving them enjoys them as much as I enjoyed making them. Click on image for a larger view.
Since my husband is a chemist the periodic table connection was fun. I think there may be some gold and silver in my future.

My life started as a Chem student (Pharmacy)
But over the years, as a Postmark’dArt group member I am beginning to realise that the GINGKO leaf has special significance for you.
WHERE is the connection between Cu (Copper) in the Periodic table, and the GINKO leaf??
Please explain

I love the ginkgo leaf! The only connection is that I thread painted it in copper-colored rayon and metallic threads.

Gorgeous, Franki, and I love the concept! I look forward to seeing other elements represented.

I like the simulated 3-D effect of the gold thread-painted leaf and the gold painted edge against the blue-green background fabric. There may indeed be some gold and/or silver in your future, but the English name and the Latin symbols don’t match as neatly as with Copper = Cu: Gold = Au (Aurum) and Silver = Ag (Argentum).

Love it!!
