I belong to an international art quilt group called Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA). Each year they hold an on-line auction of donated member-made art quilts. All proceeds help support SAQA’s exhibition programs, publications, and education outreach. Plus, each purchase helps increase the recognition for art quilts and the artists who make them. For more details, visit www.saqa.com/auction. Click on images for a larger view.
This year’s auction will take place Sept 11 – Oct 4. The auction will open with Diamond Day when all art quilts are available for $1,000 each. The art quilts remaining after Diamond Day are divided into 3 groups. Bid prices begin at $750 and drop each day at 2 pm EDT until they reach $100 on Saturday. It’s a good idea to mark your calendar for the quilts you are interested in bidding on.
My collection of foot-square art quilts has grown over the years. Here are my last two lucky purchases:

Support the arts and you, too, can grow a beautiful collection.
Be strong. Be patient. Be kind.

Thanks for the reminder of this good cause. I will take a peak to see whether I can’t live without a couple of the offerings. Are you donating a piece or two?
Franki Kohler says
No, I haven’t contributed this year. Good luck shopping!
