I am pleased with how this piece has turned out. It took longer to complete than I anticipated, but that simply seems to be the new normal. During the process of threadpainting I planned to complete the quilting and then do all the hand work. However, after doing just a bit of the quilting I realized the advantage to reversing that decision. I’m glad I did. Here are a couple detail images of the piece:

This art quilt measures 45″ x 15″. I do love this format. And I’m very happy with the amount of the marigold color that shows on the whole right side while the left side is more subtle and spotty. I think the overall look is more dynamic than if it were equal on both sides.

Oh Franki, this is stunning and so Franki! I love the asymmetry of the color. The embroidery touches are beautiful. And you excel at editing; this is so gorgeous in its simplicity. Brava!

Thanks so much Jenny! I had such a grand time creating this piece. I still love the serendipity of the eco print process. Always some unexpected surprises that work so well for me.

Even though I knew this would be another beautiful piece of art, it really is more stunning that I’d imagined. Bravo.

I owe it to that secret ingredient of serendipity. Thanks!

Thanks Vivian. I have been enjoying handwork the last few years so it felt quite natural to use it on this piece.
