I am very pleased to share that Woodwardia Wonder will be part of Intertwined [fiber from one extreme to the other] opening July 21, 2018 at the Healdsburg Center for the Arts in Healdsburg, California.
Woodwardia Wonder features a heliographic mono print of a single Woodwardia fern frond and it measures 60″ x 24″.
The call for this national juried exhibition read (in part):
Intertwined [fiber from one extreme to the other] honors all forms of fiber art expressions, from the humble woven basket to the abstract sculpture and from the traditional tapestry to the conceptual works with a social statement. All materials – paper, wool, cotton, metal, wood, plastic, etc., are acceptable as long as there is a reference to fiber and its intertwined structure. Fiber works have many modes and techniques – weaving, papermaking, felting, dyeing, surface design, sewing, quilting and more. All are acceptable as long as the work is unique and awe-inspiring.
The jurors had over 150 entries and selected 60 pieces for the exhibit. I feel quite honored to have my work selected.
Here are the details:
July 21 – September 3, 2018
Intertwined [fiber from one extreme to the other]
Healdsburg Center for the Arts
130 Plaza Street
Healdsburg, CA 95448
Opening Reception: July 21, 5 – 7 p.m.
In addition to the opening reception, there will be demonstrations and other events scheduled during the exhibit. Check the website for details before you plan your visit. The center has a tradition of closing exhibits with a tea and artist salon. It is an informal gathering of the artists and public, designed for the curious to talk with the artists about their work and inspiration. I will not be attending this closing event, but should you plan to be there to view the exhibit this could be a perfect opportunity.
Closing Tea/Artist Salon: Monday, September 3, 2 – 4 p.m.
