It is always a thrill and honor when I am approached by an author who wishes to include my work in their new book. Jenny K. Lyon’s book Free-Motion Quilting, From Ordinary to Extraordinary was published in 2018 by C&T Publishing and features two of my fabric postcards. Creating fabric postcards is just one of five projects that Jenny recommends as approachable and fun while learning skills and building confidence.
Her book is a thorough road map for learning free-motion quilting skills using step-by-step suggestions with lots of ideas and encouragement. Click on images for a larger view.

My book fast, fun and easy Fabric Postcards, Keepsakes You Can Make & Mail, was published by C&T Publishing in 2006. My premise for the book was that creating fabric postcards that you mail to friends and relatives is a terrific way to have some fun while experimenting with a wide range of techniques and materials. A postcard is just 4” x 6” so your investment in time and materials is minimal and that investment pays off with you creating with a new technique or material and being able to decide if you want to add it to your personal tool kit. A win-win! And let’s face it, from 2006 to today, there seems to be no slowing in the number of new ways to create fabric art and spend your money!
