Aching for a bit of peaceful creative distraction, I took out my sketch book — the one only suitable for pen or pencil work — and enjoyed capturing some Dusty Miller leaves.
I love the shape and color of this leaf.
What are you doing to focus on something positive?
Working on another art quilt. This one is an illustration by Nadya Ruvinsky of a forest from the book “The Green Children” written by Kenny Chumbley. He’s a friend of mine from high school.
Nice! I love the personal connection. Can’t wait to see it.
I participated in “Hands Around the Lake” (at Lake Merritt in Oakland) on Sunday afternoon. Over 6,000 people uniting to support all the groups presently under attack. A totally uplifting and peaceful event. Went to a “community sing” lead by Melanie DeMore, and sponsored by Cal Performances last night. Also incredibly uplifting. Plus I’m walking with friends, playing music, swimming and reading. It all helps. Watching out for people I know who are having an especially hard time, too.
As always, you are very involved with the community. You are a good role model for us all Nancy!
Is Dusty another one of the “Miller sisters?” I’m purging “stuff” and looking for humor to keep me going. Love your sketches and miss seeing you.
Indeed, Dusty must be one of the Miller sisters. Humor is always appropriate, Deb! I miss seeing you as well.
I’m finishing my embroidery project so that I can be ready to send out my Christmas cards. I just finished a scarf I started while detained recently in Chicago and now can finish two sweaters I started before traveling … or start my Christmas knitting projects for grandkids! So many choices.
Great! Always best to have that list available.
It is comforting to know that so many people are focusing on positive actions to help deal with the current situation. Thanks for sharing.
It sure is Ann. And I can take a page from some of these actions to move forward.
