Last night I shared a Happy Hour drink and catch-up chat with friends from the Bay Area. With all the negative things that the virus has brought to our lives, this is one big positive. I got onto Zoom earlier this week and will remain on to stay in closer contact with distant friends. It’s the closest thing to sitting together in the living room. Zoom. Here. To. Stay.
After an hour of news last night I was more than ready for the over-the-top silly movie we watched and slow stitching on this project.
I completed outlining the leaf shape with a back stitch and removed the initial outline.
Next, I made compartments in the leaf using a stem stitch.
It’s so reassuring to see those simple stitches I learned in grade school looking so wonderful. The same stem stitch was used to create the stem for the leaf. Onward! I’ll be filling in the spaces with new stitches next. Stay tuned.
If you are here for the first time, welcome. You can catch up on the start of this project here.
Be strong. Be patient. Be kind.

It’s new. And a new lifestyle for us all. We’ll get used to it.

Love using zoom. My Art Quilt group from Valley Stitchers is meeting weekly, my book group uses it (but are switching to Go Meeting because we can), and my EBHQ group was able to include a member who moved to New York. I’ve been to WW meetings here, in Hawaii, and my hometown. We should get the Piecemakers group on it and have you and Christy join us. We’re still planning to hang the quilts for Mother’s Day, but that may be optimistic thinking. In the meantime, everyone I know is making masks. I’ve finished over 50. Hope all is well with you and David.

So lovely to hear from you Sally. Count me in for a Piecemaker meeting if you do it. Would love to chat with the ladies.

I am doing some hand work also. Yes, love the Zoom, we are doing church, yoga classes, and seeing lots of Zoom going on.
Not sure how one starts it, but I suppose in time that too will surface. If it were sunny would be outside. but gee, this is what the studio is for. A quilter is never bored, can always find things to do. Take care and enjoy your day! Happy Easter!
Franki Kohler says
Yep, we’re in a whole new world right now. We are staying connected however we can. We have to support one another. Thanks for stopping by. Happy spring!
