I completed the top left section of the leaf with Needle Weaving stitch. Then I couldn’t help myself, I dove right in to doing the scattered Seed Stitch. It was quite satisfying.
While I completed the final stitches I was contemplating what I would stitch next. Happily, retail therapy is just a few keystrokes away. And look what arrived in today’s mail:
Yes, a beautiful assortment of hand-dyed felted wool. And I happen to have a few of the Painter Threads Collection by Threadnuts with names like (L to R) Georgia, Monet, VanGogh and Kandinsky.
There is more soothing hand stitching in my future.
What’s in your future that will be soothing?
To see this project from the beginning, go here, here, here and here.
Be strong. Be patient. Be kind.
this could be a bumper sticker….Happily, retail therapy is just a few keystrokes away.
I think I was with you when I bought those 4 Painter perle cotton. Seems fitting that you would be the first to comment here. No time for bumper stickers — I’ll let you go with that idea.
love the colors
take care
I have enjoyed these colors too. They are so not in my usual color palette! Good to know that I can live with them.
I’m likewise doing soothing things with thread — mostly yarn and knitting. But when I gave myself permission to explore new techniques, I was reminded how much muscle memory plays in a part in the enjoyment of needlework. My reversible cables are looking great, my tubular cast on is now in my arsenal, and I’m relaxing with beautiful yarn moving through my fingers.
Hugs around
Muscle memory is so key to many thing that we do. And when we feel it kick in is when we can really relax with what we’re doing. Such a great feeling. Glad you are enjoying it now.
Beautiful. Have you worked with Treenway silk threads? https://www.treenwaysilks.com/index.php. They have some amazing colors, too. Next time you need retail therapy
Thanks Deb. And thanks for the recommendation of Treenway. My retail therapy need comes in waves.
