While Forget Me Not is being blocked I returned to work on another sunflower scrap piece. With just one flower on this one I said to myself, “Be bold with the quilting!” So here we are —
I’m not confident enough to free-motion quilt and design the quilting simultaneously. Someday perhaps. Meanwhile, the blue sketch lines guide me and they disappear easily in the blocking process.
Right after marking the quilting lines the all-too-familiar doubts hit me hard. The design was so BOLD and the thread I planned to use was so BLUE. Then I repeated the mantra for this challenge: “Be bold!” So here it is. The next stage of quilting will be in light blue with much smaller designs.

Thanks Kay. Pushing myself through these challenges is good. This will be done in time for my show!
