The third one of the Sunflower Scrap series was completed last weekend and hung on Monday in my solo show.
This 12″ x 12″ size is simply wonderful for experimentation. There may be a few more of these in my future.

I really like that. I agree about the smaller size being good for experimentation. I’ve been using 8 1/2 x 11″ for that but I think the 12 x 12″ might be better. Will have to give it a try.
I created in the 8 1/2″ x 11″ format for several years myself. Karey Bresenhan’s Journal Quilt Project lead many of us in that direction. I enjoyed that project. But I am really liking the square format now.
Hope the show goes wonderfully, that is a lovely piece. Looks like a great way to practice quilting also…
It sure has been a great way to practice new quilting styles. A few more and I may even be comfortable.
Best wishes for an amazing experience!! Love the series! 🙂
Thanks Suzanne! This one has been lots of fun. There may be more coming.
Beautiful!
Thank you Kay!
Another winner in the series! Great creativity abounds.
Many thanks. I wish you could be here for the exhibit. I’ll post some photos later though.
I really love the rather spare design of this one, every piece is in the perfect place, lovely use of color, very creative and clever…well done again. Jen
Wow! High praise from you. Thanks.
Franki – wow! That orange just pops! And the quilting is fab – very bold! I know you stepped out of your comfort zone quilting this – and it looks amazing.
Thanks Sharon! It’s really building my skills and confidence.
Beautiful – love the way the quilting in the centre is in a bright colour, and then becomes more suble on the outer sections … it really draws the eye to the sunflower! =D
Thanks Rita! I love it when a plan comes together.
