When I put this small quilt on my design wall for further consideration last week, I thought my dilemma was the next step in the background quilting design. Yesterday I realized it wasn’t the background that needed clearer thinking, it was the foreground. Here I have added a leaf and tendril to the bottom right edge of the sunflower.
I love it when the answers come! Now I can finish it.

I knew you would come up with the correct answer. PERFECT!

Sometimes progress is painful. You’ll see this finished next week.

Looks good with the leaf on the lower right! And the tendril. How about a second leaf?
Franki Kohler says
Counting the tendril, I have 7 secondary design elements around my sunflower — the largest one I’ve done so far — and I’m afraid more leaves will crowd the composition too much. Maybe the next one — who knows?

Yep. Leaf looks good.

Thanks Deb! Now I can’t wait to finish it. More quilting with a third color thread and beads (naturally).

These just keep getting better and better! Well done!

Thank you Sharon! I’m jazzed finish it now. More twists to follow. . .

The balance is perfect. It’s good to take time to consider things. We learn a lot that way too. Thanks for sharing.

It’s beautiful, Franki. Yes, answers are nice, especially when you can act on them in the moment.
