Postmark’d Art is wrapping up a trade inspired by the alphabet. It has taken us four rounds of trading to get through the alphabet — and what fun it has been!
For this round I selected the letter T. Along with a love of gardening, I thoroughly enjoy spotting birds in the backyard. We have feeders, nesting boxes and water features in our yard to attract them. And I have a collection of embroidery bird designs created in the toile manner. I knew you’d follow all this. Keeping toile fabrics used for home decorating in mind, I decided to stay simple and graphic with my design. I used seven different bird designs and the word toile. Here is the fabric I used for the address side:
I had the letter N for inspiration in the last round.
See what I did for the first two rounds of alphabet trading here and here.
thank you,, so happy with my Valentine colored bird, came on the right day also! Love the Toile on the back, reminds me that I still have some Toile around… Thank you for trading! vivian
I especially had fun finding the right fabric for the address side Vivian. I think it took me longer to decide on that than any other aspect of the postcard. Too funny.
Franki what treasure! This is the kind of embroidery that entices me-absolutely charming.
These are fun designs indeed. And now that I’ve started using them they’ll appear on linens in my house too.
I love your Toile birds, Franki. Aileyn
Thanks! They are being stitched onto kitchen linens now too.
I love them all, Franki. I would love to see one of those scarlet tanagers in my yard, but it’s not to be. Such a great idea!!! Keep up the good work
Thanks! You’ll see the rest of the designs I have soon. They’re pretty fun.
Love the toile! Bravo!
Thanks! You’ll laugh at this: I went on line to buy the designs. Thank goodness the company keeps records of all of my purchases — I already had it!
I love the fact that they are all different. wish I’d been on the receiving end. I am ready for the next round at last!
It’s more fun to take an idea and do a spin on it so they aren’t all the same — at least for me. Glad you’ll be with us next round!
