I’ve been busy with a few other ‘extras’ this week so have just three of the circles to share with you this time. The first circle in the third row was a lot of fun, once I figured out sizing. The pattern illustrates 23 Tete de Boeuf stitches circling the outer edge with Bullion Knot stitches placed between. I did my best and could get only 17 Tete de Boeuf stitches. If I had crammed any more in, you wouldn’t be able to clearly see either stitch! The Trellis Stitch is back to command the center of the circle. The pattern illustrated leaving about a ¼” circle clear in the very center but I filled it in completely. Stitching the Trellis Stitch was much easier this time because I used a perle cotton here; my first go at this stitch was with a rayon that nearly defied taming.
I decided not to stitch the cat design shown for the second circle in this row. I just don’t care for it. I’m pondering some possibilities now and will share what I come up with soon. At least that’s the plan now.
I have edited the next circle a bit as well. The pattern calls for 2 Bullion Knots nested into each of the Fly Stitch which circles the edge. I stitched just one Bullion Knot. I also replaced a horizontally-placed Bullion Knot between the vertical ones, with Colonial Knot. The woven spokes in the center of the circle use another of the metallic threads.
I think Sue must have been thinking about Christmastime when she designed the next circle. It sure looks like a tree ornament to me.
The Woven Picot stitch that creates the poinsettia top on the bulb looks very different from it’s use in the complicated flower (2nd circle discussed) here.
I hope that you are having as much fun with your projects as I am with mine. Until next time…
Be strong. Be patient. Be kind.

The ‘ornament’ looked like a barrel cactus in bloom until you said your interpretation. The flower would have been bright pink but the ribs and spines are perfect for the thorny cactus.
Franki Kohler says
Good to have another interpretation. I was probably already thinking Christmas because of the circle that looked like a snow flake to me.
Tallgirl says
Lol I see a cactus flower also!
Franki Kohler says
Well, there it is. I’m out of the Ho! Ho! Ho! spirit.
Toni F. Smith says
So charming!
Franki Kohler says
That they are — and fun to do.
Sherry Bora, says
Beautiful and they look like fun with some challenge thrown in to keep you on your toes!
Franki Kohler says
Oh, yes, they are fun. And they are challenging. I’m having a grand time learning new stitches and using old ones in new ways.
